LA SECTA is one of those groups detached from everything going on around them. True to the same idea ever since they formed, they are not only part of Basque music history for being one of the first bands to fly the flag for Garage, Psychedelia, and the first local High Energy, but have also, through their own efforts, earned a place among the most remarkable and least known discographies in the entire state. Over more than 30 years of their career, and despite—or thanks to—all their lineup changes, the band has released more than 70 records for international labels such as Munster Records, Hell Yeah, Yep!, Sympathy For The Record Industry, Get Hip Recordings, Gasatanka, Cords, Paranoiz, Max Picou, Subterfuge, Planet of Noise, Vicious Circle, and Kinetic Vibes. They also deserve credit for becoming the only band to outlast their own generation, and it’s a pleasure to see them still fooling around onstage with the humble honesty of people who do this purely for the love of it. Throughout their career, the band kept to a league of their own, far removed from the Indie scene of the ’90s; changing styles as their lineup changed, and moving each time toward a more energetic, faster sound.
