Jawbox - Novelty - LP

Sello: Dischord

Novelty introduces second guitarist and vocalist Bill Barbot, strengthening Jawbox's sound with sharper guitars and tighter riffs. The album is more dynamic and varied than their debut, though Iain Burgess' murky production sometimes weakens the mix.Despite this, the band sounds more cohesive, with Barbot and J. Robbins creating strong guitar interplay.Robbins' lyrics become more abstract while maintaining emotional intensity in songs like "Static."The addition of the single "Tongues" elevates the album further, blending dense guitar textures with the band's post-hardcore roots.
